Jeffrey Chin, Ph.D.
Professor of Sociology and Chair
Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Le Moyne College

(This is probably the only time you'll see me in a tie!)

Welcome to my webpage.  I am a Professor of Sociology at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.   I have been at Le Moyne long enough to earn the distinction of "Bene Merenti".  (The reason I look so young in the picture is because I earned my Ph.D. when I was 12 - just kidding.)

In 1999 I was fortunate to be selected a Carnegie National Scholar.  This distinction was given to four sociologists in 1999 and another four sociologists in 2000 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching to pursue supported projects on the scholarship of teaching and learning.  My project was published last year in Teaching Sociology, an official journal of the American Sociological Association.  You can find out more about my work as a Carnegie Scholar by clicking on the "research" button below.

In 1996 I was fortunate to be selected to serve a three-year term as Editor of Teaching Sociology, an official journal of the American Sociological Association.  You can also find out more about my work as editor of Teaching Sociology by going to  my research page.
