Bloc Quebecois - the party which supports the autonomy/independence of the province of Quebec
Business Council on National Issues - BCNI - the most influential business federation in Canada
Canadian Labour Congress - CLC - the largest and most import ant central labor federation in Canada
Canadian Union of Public Employees - the largest labor union in Canada
Confederation of National Trade Unions - CNTU - also known as CSN -Confederation des Syndicats Nationaux - the second largest central labor federation in Canada. Formerly the Canadian and Catholic Confederation of Labour
Congress of Democratic Trade Unions - CSD - La Centrale des syndicats democratiques - the third largest central labour federation in Canada
Conservative Party of Canada - the more right wing of the two major national parties. It was formed in the very early 21st century by a merger of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservatives
Crown Corporations - government owned firms which compete with the private sector
International Union - one which represents employees in both Canada and the United States but probably has its headquarters and the majority of its members in the United States
Liberal Party - the more left wing of the two major national parties. It has held power at the national level more than any other party
National Labour Market and Productivity Center - NLMPC - bi-partite consultative body with equal labor and management representation but funded by the Federal goverment
National Union - one which represents Canadian employees at more than a single location or more than a single employer and which is headquartered in Canada
New Democratic Party - NDP - the third largest party in Canada, formed with union support and which much of the union movement supports
Rand Formula - agency shop arrangement in which non-unionists must pay the equivalent of union dues.
