Planning for Interviews:  Group Work for Informal Logic

Divide into small groups. Discuss and prepare a written summary of your group's responses to the following questions. Make sure every member of your group has a copy of the summary before you turn in a copy of the summary with every group member's name on it, and with the name of the recorder.

1.  Reflecting on Medley, other sources you know, and your own experience, what are three of the most difficult interview questions you may encounter?

2. Briefly explain how your group members would reply to them.

3. Which replies did your group think were the most effective?  Why?

4. Which replies did your group think were the least effective?  Why?

5.  Reflecting on Medley, other sources you know, and your own experience, what are three of the easiest interview questions you may encounter?  How would you reply?

6.  Evaluate the replies your group offered in #5.  On the basis of your evaluation, what are some of the special dangers of "easy" interview questions?
